Meet The Teachers

  • Ms. Gill

Hi everyone, my name is Ms. Gill. I just completed my third year as a BC teacher, while also teaching at Galabata. Punjabi is very important to me-it's a language I use every day with my parents, grandparents, and the parents of my students. It's something I deeply value and never want to lose.

Through Galabata, I'm excited to teach and share this beautiful language with the next generation. It has been such a joy to see the excitement on children's faces when they learn something new in Punjabi. I look forward to continuing to be a part of your children's Punjabi language journey.

    Mrs. Raman

Sat Sri Akal & Hello! My name is Ms. Raman & I am one of the Galabata teachers at the Abbotsford location! I have been teaching for over 8 years! I love meeting new people, learning about new cultures, travelling, teaching fun & innovative things, as well as sharing my Punjabi roots. Hope to see you at one of my Galabata classes!

  • Mrs. Gill

Hi everyone, my name is Mrs. Gill and I am currently a Grade 4/5 teacher in the Surrey School District. Punjabi is a language I use every day with parents, family and friends- it keeps me grounded and deeply connected to my culture. I'm proud to be able to speak, read and write in Punjabi, and it's a part of who I am. While I have a passion for teaching, I feel especially fortunate to be able to teach Punjabi. It's more than just a language- it's a way to perserve and celebrate identity, and I'm grateful to share that with others.

  • Ms. Sandhu

Hi, I’m Ms. Sandhu! This is my fifth year teaching. For me, Punjabi is how I remain connected with my culture and my family. Every child who learns Punjabi is another thread that keeps that connection strong. Fun fact: you’ll probably catch me practicing bhangra on the weekends!
